PRINCIPAL / MANAGING PARTNER
John L. Weed serves as a partner and senior project manager of Bonsai Architectural Designs. John received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.S.Arch) and his Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. His professional experience includes multi-family housing, mixed-use development, single-family residential, commercial hospitality, office workspace design, places of worship, healthcare, higher education, and retail.
DIRECTOR OF INTERIOR DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
Brittney is the Director of Bonsai’s International Interior Design division. Brittney’s experience specializes in niche luxury Interior Design and leads a team that create experiential residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. Brittney is passionate about wholistic design that engages all of the senses and leaves you ruminating about the experience.
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Becky has 20 years of experience leading the charge in internationally known organizations and now oversees Bonsai’s internal affairs. Becky’s structure and organization has become the thread that sews each of these four entities together and allows them to work in perfect harmony.
From design to structure erection and all the coordination in between, Becky is at the forefront ensuring quality throughout. The final step of Becky’s role at Bonsai is working in collaboration with Project Manager –Andy Ko to ensure each project has ongoing weekly/monthly property maintenance to allow our finished product to withstand the inevitable conditions of Kauai. Along with this sustainability program comes the option for property management to of TVR and other short term or long-term rental property’s.

For clients wanting to continue maintaining their home via our turn key process, we have all property and TVR rental managers pre-structured into our business model.
Bonsai Design Build is a Licensed General Contraction Company supported by three primary subsidiary branches in order to achieve this true turn-key/start-to-finish Design Build approach. The underlying goal behind this broad business model is to relieve our clients of the burden required in micromanaging each and every aspect designing, building and maintaining a personal or vacation investment home.

BONSAI ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS focuses on the design intent and brings that goal, into alignment with feasibility, code compliance and the appropriate budget set fourth. Bonsai Arch. Design also collaborates with all necessary consultants and or entities required to attain entitlement on each project. This includes 3rd party engineers (structural, civil, MEP) as well as permit offices or HOA committees.
Another large role from the architectural side is assisting the construction entity in attaining accurate costs for upcoming projects via pre-con process led by Bonsai Design Build.

BONSAI INTERIOR DESIGNS creates full spec books, cut sheets and finish schedules to provide the construction division with all the necessary product information to formulate an accurate estimate. It also provides the client with extremely high quality and res renderings in order to help the client envision the final product and feel good about the approval process.
Their job doesn’t stop there though… Bonsai Interior Design procures all products requiring design decision to ensure products received are accurate and undamaged. Managing and storing all these products on the front end guarantees that our clients do not ever experience supply shock issues like the rest of the state does.

BONSAI PROJECTS was exclusively designed to maintain and manage projects that were already designed and/or built by our company. We offer 24/7 care and on call specialists for any and all requests pertaining to your property management as well as repetitive and preventative care to ensure your dream home or vacation rental remains in perfect care regardless of your presence on or off of Kauai.
